La Finca Golf Course Algorfa, Comunidad Valenciana
La Finca sits in the Vega Baja valley near Algorfa, a Pepe Gancedo design that opened in 2002 and has been recognised ever since as one of the standout courses on the Costa Blanca. Gancedo, one of Spain's most celebrated amateur players turned architect, worked with the natural terrain rather than against it, and the result is a course that feels genuinely considered rather than simply built. Wide, generous fairways give golfers of every handicap room to use the driver, but it's the greens that set La Finca apart. No two look the same: the 7th is famously square, closer to an English bowls green than a traditional putting surface, while the 14th is round and deep, often likened to a Chinese wok. Running water, mature olive trees and small canyons crossed by bridges add character throughout, and the course has hosted junior European and Spanish championships over the years. Villamartin Golf Course Orihuela Costa, Comunidad Valenciana
Villamartin has been a fixture of the Costa Blanca since June 1972, when Robert Dean Putman, the same architect behind La Manga's championship courses, laid it out on the southern edge of Orihuela Costa. It remains the oldest course in the region, and more than fifty years of maturity show in every fairway. The front nine sits on higher ground, opening up sweeping views across the countryside to the sea, while the back nine drops into the valley, where ravines cut across several holes and demand real course management. The 17th is the hole most golfers remember, widely regarded as one of the best par 3s on the coast.
