Canyamel Golf Course was designed by José ''Pepe'' Gancedo and opened in 1988 in a small valley near Capdepera, on Mallorca's north-east coast. The par-73, 18-hole layout was built to work with the land's existing contours rather than against them, and the course remains one of the island's most picturesque as a result.
The par-4 9th is the hole everyone remembers: a centuries-old stone hut sits in the middle of the fairway, complicating the line into a green just 320 metres away. The 4th offers sea views as far as neighbouring Menorca on a clear day, and the round closes with the 18th, a triple-tiered ''piano'' green that plays out below the clubhouse terrace like an amphitheatre. Elsewhere the course rewards careful course management over raw power, with the natural orography doing most of the work.
Facilities include a driving range, golf academy, locker rooms and a putting green. Book your round at one of Mallorca's most naturally integrated courses, a genuine change of pace from the island's resort circuit.

The approach to the course/clubhouse looked underwhelming, however it was actually a fantastic clubhouse interior and view, with the proshop selling excellent quality clothing. The course was in great condition, greens were quick and several were tiered, so tricky! Food was ok, brought starters and mains together….. golf course rating 4.5/5, clubhouse 5/5 food 3/5
