Maioris Golf Course

Maioris Golf Course was designed by German architect Dieter Cabus for developer Romeo Sala Massanaet, who also created Pula Golf Resort on Mallorca's north-east coast. Opened in 2006, it's one of the island's younger courses, set just 15 minutes from Palma among classic Mediterranean pine, olive and carob trees.

The front nine plays wide, flat and largely Scottish in character; the back nine picks up length and slope for a tougher, more American-style finish. Four lakes and two island greens define the round: the par-5 4th, reachable in three for most golfers but unforgiving for anyone short, and the par-3 13th, its green set over water and guarded by a lone carob tree. Look out too for the 2nd hole, where a pine tree stands squarely in the middle of the fairway. The sea breeze is a near-constant companion given the course's coastal proximity.

Facilities include a driving range, golf academy and a putting green. Book your round at one of Mallorca's more complete modern tests, close to Palma and the airport.
