Salobre Old Golf Course was designed by Roland Favré and opened in 1999, making it one of the oldest commercial courses on Gran Canaria. It has hosted the Spanish PGA Championship in 2006 and the Spanish Senior and Women's Championships in 2001. The course sits within Salobre Golf & Resort near Maspalomas, carved into the island's volcanic terrain south of the interior mountains.
Wide fairways and elevated tees run through old lava outcrops and black sand waste areas, a landscape as much desert as parkland. The par 3s carry the sting: none more so than the 11th, the course's signature hole, a long downhill test to an offset green ringed by stone. Small, tiered greens reward precision over power, keeping the course fair for a wide range of handicaps despite its bold, rugged setting. A multi-year renovation of bunkers and tees is underway, aimed at reducing water use without touching the routing.
Facilities include a driving range, golf academy with club-fitting technology, chipping and practice greens, locker rooms and a recently refreshed pro shop. Book your round at Salobre Old and see why it remains one of the island's most enduringly popular tests.

Vriendelijke en behulpzame receptie. Idem voor restaurant. Prachtige, uitdagende baan. We genoten van ons spel daar!

Probably would not play here again, very very long round, everyone was having a problem looking for lost balls. No sign as to where we had to book in so got a little lost on the complex.

A challenging course with some quirky holes. Buggies are a must given the terrain.

Pro shop experience including staff was very good. Practice facilities were excellent. The course was generally good although a number of the tee boxes were showing signs of wear and tear.

Need a buggy. Very small tee boxes. Decent course but not the best.

Good golf course in very good condition - greens quick for putting but firm for chipping. Not a beginners course I’d say as a lot of steep drops to greens etc.

Course is heavily booked, but in great shape: fast and tidy greens, fairways and plants well kept. Friendly and professional staff
