Spain golf holidays - Golf Costa Teguise

Golf Costa Teguise Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Costa Teguise Golf Course was designed by British architect John Harris and opened in 1978, the first golf course built on Lanzarote. It sits at the foot of an extinct volcano within the Costa Teguise resort, with more than 3,500 palm trees lining the fairways and the Atlantic Ocean in view throughout the round. The par-72 layout favours variety over brute length, with numerous doglegs asking players to work every club in the bag. Volcanic picón sand and Lanzarote's near-constant trade winds add an extra layer of difficulty even on the shorter holes. A 2007–2008 restoration recovered parts of the original routing and brought disused tees back into play, and the course has held up well since: greens are consistently rated fast and true, even where the fairways show the wear you'd expect on a course this established. Facilities include a 300-metre driving range, a putting green, a chipping green with bunkers, and a dedicated practice hole. The clubhouse restaurant looks out over the 18th green and the ocean beyond. Book your round at Lanzarote's original golf course and see what's kept it a favourite for over four decades. (...)

Spain golf holidays - Lanzarote Golf Course

Lanzarote Golf Course Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Lanzarote Golf Course opened in October 2008, designed by the American architect Ron Kirby — a former project designer for Jack Nicklaus's studio, also responsible for Salobre and Meloneras on Gran Canaria. It sits on higher ground between Puerto del Carmen and Tías; the original nine holes drew just a handful of golfers a day before the course grew into one of the island's two full 18-hole options. The layout runs 18 holes, par 72, 6,133 metres — four par-3s, four par-5s and ten par-4s, built into naturally undulating land with the island's traditional volcanic stone walls left in place, giving the course a distinctive black-and-green contrast. Wide fairways and big greens suit players of every handicap, though the tighter holes still ask more of stronger players. Views run out to the Atlantic, Fuerteventura and Isla de Lobos. The course irrigates entirely with treated water and runs its buggy fleet on electric power. Facilities include a 20-bay driving range, a putting green and a short-game practice area, alongside equipment and buggy rental and golf lessons for all levels. Book Lanzarote Golf Course through Tee Times for a modern, wind-tested round with real Atlantic views on one of the island's higher-ground courses. (...)
