Club de Golf Aranjuez sits on the banks of the Tajo, a few minutes from the historic Real Sitio de Aranjuez, a UNESCO World Heritage town of palaces and gardens. The club was built by a small group of local golf enthusiasts who began with makeshift facilities before establishing the permanent course, and that community spirit still defines it today.
Nine holes, seven par 4s and two par 3s, play over flat, easy-walking terrain designed by Joaquín Oscar Izquierdo Cases. The flat ground is deceptive: water and out-of-bounds come into play throughout, so the course asks for careful shot placement rather than raw distance, and rewards a thinking game over a powerful one.
The club runs its own golf school and welcomes visitors alongside its members, making it an easy, unpretentious round to add to a Madrid golf break. Its riverside setting, right at the edge of one of Spain's most historic towns, makes it worth pairing with a walk through Aranjuez itself.
