Very helpful and friendly staff, The greens were brilliant, the downside to the course was the lack of signs to each tee box , which caused a lot of confusion for most players as it seemed it was their first time playing here , so duration of round was about 20 minutes longer than it should ( 4.45 hours in total).

I really like amarilla. First two fairways currently in poor condition but they are working on them. Playing areas are otherwise good and the layout excellent.Nearby construction work and waste areas doesn’t spoil the golf for me.

Had a great round at amarilla , played many times and the course was generally in great condition, the first 2 fairways do appear in bad condition but I would suggest that’s just seasonal damage

Challenging course. The state of the fairways was variable….the first three were brown and dead but the rest were better. The greens were fast and twisty but in good condition. There was no starter in evidence and the course could have been better marshalled. The environment is lovely with delightful views . The wind is a definite factor in the game.

Lovely environment. The first three holes had rather dead fairways which were very rough in places. The rest of the course was in good order except for the tee beds which had been heavily sanded. This was ok when using a driver with a tall tee but not so good on the shorter holes. There were good practice facilities beside the first tee.

I found the course much improved since the last time I played there, and the layout, which remained substantially unchanged, appeared very fun and competitive, allowing even my partner players who were not particularly gifted to have fun. Good golf course to spend some hours having fun !

I should start with the fact that the course is lovely and immaculately kept. Problems were I arrived to find a huge group of members on the first tee at my tee off time. It was a competition day and teeing off in the middle of lots of 4 balls would have made my round very slow and would break up traditional well established groupings. The starter went up to the group and mentioned that I had a booked tee time and their proposal was I should start on the 4th hole to be ahead of them and then play holes 1-3 at the end. This isn’t great but I accepted this and went to 4th. I then played 15 lovely holes and went back round to the first hole. Hit 3 shots up towards the green to find the green had completely been hollow tinned and there was no putting surface at all. This was only 11.00am. I therefore couldn’t play on this hole and picked my ball up. I finished on hole 3. As I started with, the course is lovely and I received a great welcome from the course staff and had lovely food and drink afterwards, but if it was my club and members seem to be able to do what they want despite external bookings being made (which bring valuable money in for their club / keeps their green fees down etc), I would be embarrassed. It didn’t spoil my day and I would definitely go back, but it didn’t seem right when I had paid a lot of money to be there. I mentioned the first green when I got in to the starter and she said nobody plays after that time so they did the works then, but they knew I was out there and that because of the members, I hadn’t played the hole.

We already play more then 5 years on the Amarilla Golf Course. Never we had the experience of today: 5 flights on the same hole!
